A large louvre roof was installed to this luxury holiday villa project, to create a shaded outdoor living space that bridges the gap between the internal rooms and the external pool area.
The building-integrated louvre system is powder coated in white to fit in with the bright, modern aesthetic of the villa. Integrated weather sensors were built into the design, allowing the louvres to adjust automatically in response to the angle of the sun in the sky.
When fully closed, the louvres provide a completely watertight shelter over the outdoor terrace. A concealed drainage channel directs rainwater down one of the corner leg posts and into the garden to the side of the patio, keeping the main space dry.
A large rear glazed façade was designed to allow for expansive views of the sprawling gardens. Floor-to-ceiling fixed glass walls and picture windows flood the open plan living room with natural light, while a minimal glass casement door provides step-free access onto the terrace seating area.
