This luxury beach resort created three freestanding glass pods, using frameless effect sliding doors and IQ’s aluminium louvre roof system. The pods form part of an extensive outdoor terraced area for the hotel guests to enjoy, complete with several swimming pools, sunken open-air sofas and long-reaching coastal views.
The three glazed garden rooms complete the modern, recreational space by providing enclosed seating spaces that enjoy adjustable shading and privacy. The aluminium louvres can be tilted and the sliding doors that make up the glazed walls can be fully slid open to create an al fresco experience during the day, while providing the option for customisable solar shading and protection from the cooler air if required.
The aluminium frames and louvres are powder coated in a minimal beige tone to match the neutral palette used for each of the outdoor furnishings used throughout the terrace, while the slim framed sliding glass doors offer a minimal, contemporary aesthetic.
Fully automated louvre systems were specified for the luxury glass pods, which can easily be operated at a touch of the button by the occupants of each glazed outdoor room. They can also be programmed to turn automatically in response to the movement of the sun through the sky, ensuring the guests remain in the shade during the heat of the day.
