The IQ  louvre roof system provides the perfect floating patio roof design to this contemporary home, merging the internal living spaces with the outside dining area. This louvre roof installation is supported directly to the properties external walls creating a ‘floating’ aesthetic.

The integrated drainage system enables the rainwater to drain from the aluminium louvres, through the roof profiles into the gargoyle integrated into the profile of the aluminium canopy.

The contemporary floating patio roof has been designed with two roof fields to cover the whole of the large outdoor dining area. By including an IQ  louvre roof into the architectural design the homeowners can control the amount of solar gain through the large rear glass elevation on the home. The automated louvres can turn 140˚ providing controllable shade, protecting the patio area and the interiors from the sun, preventing overheating. Similarly, in wet weather, the automated louvres close creating a fully watertight seal protecting the outdoor patio and dining area from the rain to enable it to be used throughout more of the year.

The design flexibility and construction of the IQ Louvre roof meant it was a perfect shading solution to maximise the outdoor living area, whilst keeping the contemporary design aesthetics and finish to the home.

LED spot lighting was integrated into the roof profile, enabling full use of the outdoor patio area perfect for the darker evenings and for entertaining.
