A bespoke architectural IQ louvre roof was used to this contemporary home. The IQ Louvre Roof was designed to reduce the solar gain providing shading to the large elevation of sliding glass doors.
The bespoke architectural louvre roof provides controllable shade and sun to the outdoor dining area with automated louvres, as well as protecting the internal rooms from solar gain and overheating. The two louvre roofs also provide a watertight patio roof protecting the al fresco seating area from the rain. This solution also helps reduce the amount of water hitting the modern patio doors reducing the amount of watermarks and splash back on the patio area.
The garden roof was designed with two roof fields; one cantilevered from the building and another supported by extended leg posts as a contemporary design feature. The integrated drainage system of the IQ louvre roof enables the rainwater to drain through the supporting leg posts into drains below the patio area.
This IQ louvre roof creates a fantastic addition to this home helping the internal and external living areas merge forming the perfect outdoor living experience.
Lighting and heating were also integrated within the profile of the aluminium structure. Our external heater were used to maximise the comfort to the outdoor patio area and take the chill off those cold evenings. In order to get full use out of the external living space 12 spot lights were integrated into the patio louvre roof to light up the darker evenings.
