A new outdoor living space was created by installing a building integrated IQ Lux Louvre Roof onto the terrace of this property. This louvre roof installation required two additional supporting posts due to the large roof field required.
This new IQ Lux Louvre roof provides solar shading to the internal and external living spaces. Solar shading is necessary for this project as the sliding glass doors will allow maximum natural light intake into the property which could potentially overheat the space. Installing the IQ Lux Louvre Roof onto this space helps to reduce overheating of the indoor and outdoor spaces by providing shade to both areas.
This indoor-outdoor living space can be used by the homeowners throughout the year due to the impressive amount of solar shading and shelter the louvre roof provides. The automated louvres are designed to be watertight when closed and even when opened after a rainy day, no rainwater will leak into the living space. This helps to keep the space dry throughout the year.
The IQ Lux louvre roof has been powder coated light grey to match with the aluminium framing on the doors used to access the terrace. This creates a uniform design for the external area and adds a contemporary design aspect to the red brick property.
Two IQ Lux HeatStrips and six LED spotlights were integrated into the design of this roof to provide additional warmth and light to the space. This creates the ideal outdoor living space in the evenings when it is much cooler, or even to allow the homeowners to use the space throughout the Winter without the space being too wet and cold.
